SIX MILE WATER GRASSTRACK ENTRIES NOW AVAILABLE

19/04/2015

In just under three weeks’ time, Carrickfergus & District Motorcycle Club’s brand new grasstrack circuit, Six Mile Water in Ballyclare will stage its first open event. The joint adult and youth venture on Saturday 9th May will officially kick off the clubs grasstrack season and its goal is to showcase this exhilarating sport at all levels.

Carrickfergus & District have been running popular grasstracks since reforming as a club back in 2007 and this new venue has the potential to be one of the best yet from both a riders and spectators perspective. Contours of the land will be used to create a testing and exciting layout around the large field situated on the upper side of the locally well-known, Six Mile Water River.

Adult races that will feature throughout the day include Premier Solo & Quad Classes along with Clubman versions of the same. The trend form of racing within Northern Ireland presently is very much EVO Racing so to cater for this an EVO class has been added to the format. As an extra addition to the Saturday event, the sidecar men and women are making a return to race for the Robert Blair Memorial Trophy after a year’s absence from the club schedule.

If that wasn’t enough of an action packed day the 2015 Youth Grasstrack Series will begin right alongside the adult racing providing an excellent stage for the youth to race on. A full range of solo youth classes from 50cc automatics right up to the seniors are catered for and a reduced entry fee applies for round one due to the gate admission fee applicable to everyone attending that is over 16.

Pre entry for all classes is preferred to ensure the club can produce an up to date race day programme for spectators & sponsors but entries will be taken on the day also when space remains in the class. To guarantee a place on the grid competitors can go to www.carrickfergusmcc.co.uk to enter the event online but should be reminded that this online system will close on Wednesday 6th May as the programme goes to print.

Everything is in place for a great days racing, make sure you are there to enjoy it. For latest updates and more information including directions to the track, check out the Carrickfergus & District M.C.C. club website and social media channels.
