EVENING GRASSTRACK RACING RETURNS TO LARNE

Off Road Motorcycle Racing will once again return to Larne when Carrickfergus & District Motorcycle Club promotes its popular grasstrack events off the Ballymullock Road, just a short distance from the Millbrook area of the town.

Youth competitors will take to the track on Tuesday 10th June racing across a range of classes. Kids from as young as six years old, and as old as eighteen years old are eligible to compete on Tuesday evening. They will be accompanied by a line-up of junior quad racers brought in to replace the sidecar class at late notice; these kids always provide some quality sideways racing.

Focus turns to the adult section on Wednesday (11th June) night where an action packed line up of racing is scheduled to keep the crowd on the edge of their seats. Without a doubt this is the main event and the one not to be missed with the Premier Solo & Quad racers set to do battle around the short Quay Park circuit. Backing up the feature races are the Clubman & EVO classes, opening the event up for all abilities to take their place on the line.

Headline sponsor & off road retailer, Norman Watt Motorcycles are again backing this event and have generously supplied awards for the various classes to add some extra spice to proceedings on both nights.

The beauty about Grasstrack Racing is that it gives riders that don’t always shine on a motocross track, a chance to race the fastest on a more level playing field, quite literally. Expect fast racing, expect close racing, expect spills and expect shocks, just make sure you are there to witness it!

Spectator admission on the Tuesday night will be free while admission on the Wednesday feature night is priced at £5.00 per adult. Kids that are under 16 years old can avail of free admission when accompanied by an adult. Free Parking is provided on site and the venue will be signposted from Millbrook Roundabout in Larne using ‘Moto-Cross’ signs. Racing will be from 6.30pm on both nights and spectators can watch the racing from the designated viewing areas and even enjoy some hot food from LJ’s Diner at the same time!
