Carrickfergus & District Motorcycle Club’s final grasstrack events of the season look set to be held under bright skies this coming Tuesday and Wednesday evening at Six Mile Water, Ballyclare.
For the youth racers, Tuesday will be their last chance to ensure they climb on to the podium in the 2015 Watt Motorcycles Grassroots Youth Series with the final three races all going towards the championship. The kids have provided some excellent racing up to now with many standing back in awe of what some of these young racers can do on a bike.
The current leaders in each of the youth classes are as follows: 50cc – Caiden Bailey, 65cc Cadet – Brett Kelly, 65cc Junior – Adam Donnelly, SW85cc – Jack Cusick, BW85cc – Nathan Green, Seniors – Dylan McCaughey. Things may change at the top as the nights racing progresses but with this being a club championship, only club members will remain in the series at the end so that may also have a bearing on who comes out on top, all will become clearer on Tuesday night.
Six Mile Water provided some of the best races you’ll witness all year when the adults took to the circuit back in early May and Wednesday is expected to be no different. The track is in prime condition for racing and with a minimum fifteen race programme of premier/clubman solo and quad classes scheduled, the racing will be explosive throughout.
Thanks to sponsorship from MTA Process Components, Scarlett DIY, Stephen Russell Motocross and Islandbawn Stores, it has been possible for the Carrick Club to put up beautiful engraved glass trophies for the top three overall in each adult class on the night.
Entries for both events will be accepted on the night but to be in with a chance of winning one of four £20 vouchers for Norman Watt Motorcycles, riders can pre enter the event online at www.carrickfergusmcc.co.uk up until a certain time.
Spectator admission will be free for the Tuesday night while for the feature adult races; gate admission is priced at £5 (u16 free) and included a race day programme while stocks last. Parking is available within the venue and spectators are encouraged to arrive in time for racing at 6.30pm. LJ’s Diner will be providing the catering services on the night should you need to grab a bite at the circuit.
It’s sure to be a fantastic two nights of entertainment in Ballyclare, make sure you are there to witness the action unfold. More information on the event can be found on the club’s social media channels & website, www.carrickfergusmcc.co.uk.
