ALL SYSTEMS GO FOR CARRICK GRASSTRACK OPENER

All systems are go for the opening rounds of the 2016 Carrick Grasstrack Championships at Dalway’s Bawn Road, Carrickfergus and it’s gearing up to get off to a great start. The championship will get underway with the Youth on Tuesday evening while the Adults will have to wait until Wednesday evening to take to the track

CDMCC have worked tirelessly throughout the week to prepare Dalway’s Bawn for racing and with the track extended into a portion never used before, the 1km circuit is expected to provide racers with a fast but also challenging track. The hillside circuit makes use of the natural contours and probably is geared more towards an old school scramble than a grasstrack but either way, it will be loved by both rider and spectator.

Riders have until 8pm on Monday evening to avail of a discounted pre-entry fee (post or online) but shouldn’t panic if they miss the initial closing date as entries will be accepted on the night where space in the class remains.

Practice will get underway at 6.10pm sharp on both nights with racing scheduled to start at an earlier than advertised time of 6.40pm due to light constraints at round one. Admission on the feature Wednesday night will be £5 per adult and this will include a free race day programme and free parking within the venue itself, no parking or spectating at the roadside is permitted at any time. Catering and toilet facilities are available on site throughout both events.

Some fantastic racing is expected across both nights so make sure you don’t miss it, pencil the dates in your diary and come witness some fast and furious grasstrack action. For more information including directions and online entry details, please see the club website www.carrickfergusmcc.co.uk.
